These images show shops during the pandemic. I am also documenting the pandemic from supermarkets, as I feel it is an enviroment that shows the fear that is surrounding society. These images all hold a lot red which links them together.
This image shows a person in between two shelves in a shop. They are holding toilet rolls, knelt down with a red basket. The theme of red flows throughout the image, from the basket which breaks the frame, to the two red pillars either side of the subject. The subject has a face mask and gloves on, which are black, this works well as it shows context of it being the pandemic without it being bright and distracting. The image seems to be lit from tungsten lighting.
This image is a landscape showing a man looking into a shop window. Again, red is a theme in this image, with the outside of the shop being red. There are flowers in the doorway, perhaps suggesting that the owner or a family member has passed away. The man is to the right of the frame, stood at an angle, with the photographer to the left behind the subject. The man is wearing a mask, which brings the context and story to the image. The image has been shot in daylight on an overcast day.
