This project has been one that I have really enjoyed but changed how I initially planne due to lockdown. I was initially worried about the results I could achieve from home as I was limited with subjects and thought this could impact my project. I found myself a lot more creative and thought a lot about what I had to shoot and how to focus on aspects such as light, contrast and colour, more than I would have otherwise. I started the project feeling quite flat and found it difficult to keep on top on of taking atleast one image a day and often rushed the result. With the second attempt I made sure I researched photographers and looked at their styles and techniques and applied it to my work, seeing my work develop throughout the project. We also had set tasks that we had to do, such as re-creating images which was a good way to really understand the photographers techniques.
I am pleased with my final 10 images, however I am dissapointed I couldn’t go with the specific 10 I wanted due to some of them not being sharp enough. If I was to re-do the project I would have started research earlier on and applied it from the beginning so I could have potentially improved more. I would also have reached out for feedback throughout my project in order to get advice on improving, but I didn’t until late in the project. As I was feeling a bit overwhelmed with all of my work I thought I would save time and not ask for feedback, which ultimatley led me to not have the beneficial help I could have. I have really enjoyed this project and have achieved some work I am happy with that I would not have attempted if it wasn’t for lockdown.
