This is one of the shots I chose to edit . I liked the composition of it. In the editing process I want to brighten the face area, as it is currently very contrasted in a shadow.

I began by increasing the exposure, lifting the shadows and clarity. Instantly the image looked better and the subject was lit more.

I cropped the image for a closer view of the subject and to eliminate some of the uneven negative space of the floor.

I then used the dodge tool on her face to lift it more. The outcome was a lot better. I then went back in with a smaller brush and went over the eyes once more.

Using the sharpen tool allowed her face to become more sharp and defined.

I am pleased with the outcome. I have referred to my audience and kept the image interesting. I am not sure if I have lightened the face enough for it to be a potential final outcome.

I like the positioning of this image. I feel like the models face being in a shadow lets it down. I could lighten her face during the editing process and try to make sure her eye area isn’t too dark.

I lifted the shadows to brighten her face, the exposure and clarity. The image improved after these changes.

I used the sharpen tool to enhance the details in her eyes and face.

I went back over with the didge tool to lift her face more and felt the result was much better.

I cropped the image so that the subject was more central.

Again, I like the image but feel her face is too dark. I wasn’t able to lift the shadow as much as I had hoped.

The composition of this image works quite well. In the editing process I want to straighten the lined of the railings and lighten her face area.

I lifted the shadows and increased the exposure. I also increased the clarity which made the imag appear much sharper.
I used the crop tool to rotate the image to make it straight and elimnate some of the background.

The subjects face appears mucg lighter and the result is better than the original. I am not sure if I would use it as a final outcome and it isn’t as strong as I wanted.

Good compositiion and idea but dark under eye.

lifted the shadows and exposure to try and lift the dark areas.

Used the dodge tool to lift under eye area.

I like the outcome, but the eye area is too dark.

I chose this image, as the eye area wasn’t too dark. I like the concept of the image and I left extra room to crop it.

I increased the white balance, which made the image look more clean and bright.

I cropped the image slightly.

I used the sharpen tool on the face area to sharpen it more.

This is my favourite edit so far and feel it has potential to be a final outcome.

This is my favourite shot from the shoot. I under exposed the image and shot in raw so that I could lift it in photoshop without it being over exposed. I directed the model to interact with the prop and I like the outcome of it.

I lifted the exposure and shadows, which made the subject more visible. I also ncreased the clarity to make the shot more sharp.

I feel as if this is my strongest shot from this shoot. The shadows are not distracting from her face and the style is relevant to my chosen magazine and target audience. I could potentially use it as a final outcome, depending on other shoots I do.
I am pleased with the outcomes in terms of concept, but feel my lighing has let them down again. I need to try more to make sure the subjects face isn’t contrasted and shadowed too much, especially in the under eye area. In my other shoots I will be more careful and make sure to shoot in the shade or specifically shoot early morning or evening when the is a softer light. I will also use the reflector more carefully.
