I am pleased with the outcome of the slideshow. My plan was to create an eery slideshow that shows the ‘new normal’ of life during the pandemic, exclusive to supermarket shopping. I planned my story board earlier on in the project and stuck with this order as I felt it was the best flow and order I could have with my images. For the audio I used a poem about supermarkets and had my younger sister to read it out. I felt this audio was relevant and worked well together, adding the the eery atmosphere I wanted to portray with my images. I found that having a break between the the first image and the start of the audio worked well to allow viewers to take a moment without sound to look at the image. I also made this desicion at the end to make the slideshow balanced and give viewers a moment to think about what they had previously saw. I found through research that 6 seconds was a good amount of time to show the images for. I previously planned to use 7, but later found this too long and the audio was too short to have the extra time in for.
I do feel like my slideshow tells a story and with the poem audio it has been made more clear. The order of the story shows the process of people starting from their cars, to queuing up and waiting, to making their way back to the cars. With the focus being around masks, gloves and full shopping trolleys I feel like it plays like a story. I was unsure of how to approach the audio aspect, but later decided a poem would be a good way of adding to the story and talking about the fear and unusualness that surrounds the new normal.
