Photo-story AD4802// Magazine-National Geographic

I have decided to base my magazine from National Geographic, as I felt my work communicates with it the best.

The target group is men between 30 and 50 years, with high education and high income. They read about space, history, technology, nature and psychology – and much else. The potential to find interesting stories, news and fun facts on topics like these are virtually boundless.

I feel as if the usual type of people that read the magazine would find my story interesting as it is relevent to the themes that are typically present in this magazine. My story has scientific values as well as educational which is similar to the articles that are published within National geographic. My target audience isn’t as specific as being directed at men, as I feel the subject is a little more broader than other articles within the magazine.

National geographic tend to keep their articles factual, which is what I also plan to do with my magazine spread. They also use text that is relevant to the images next to the text. I have have an opening text that gives context and then accompany factual statistics next to the images. For example, for an image that shows a key worker, I will have a simple text talking about how that has changed in response to the pandemic.
