I have decided to create a diary documenting the changes of the pandemic throughout my project. I feel as if this will help me create a better story and make sure I am up to date with new knowledge, not only for the purpose of telling my story as factually as possible, but also for my safety and others. As I have chosen to complete a photo story on an ongoing event I felt this was a good way of completing contextual research. I will be updating the diary throughout my project, especially when there have been new and relevant updates.

A swathe of businesses were ordered to close as part of the measures. With notable exceptions, retailers followed pubs and restaurants in being told to shut their doors after a weekend during which many people were still out and about, despite government pleas to isolate themselves.
I have now been forced to stop working, as well as millions of other people whos jobs are non essential. There are still loads of questions around what this means for some businesses.
UK death toll increases to 335. The Department of Health and Social Care released its latest figures, showing that 6,650 people have tested positive for Covid-19 and 335 patients have died.
335 people have been confirmed dead, but apparently this number is fewer than the accurate one due to this only being a statistic from deaths within hospitals!

Global death toll surpasses 30,000
The coronavirus pandemic has killed more than 30,000 people worldwide. The total number of confirmed cases is currently at 691,867, according to Johns Hopkins University.
German’s state’s finance minister kills himself
The finance minister of Germany’s Hesse state, Thomas Schäfer, has killed himself after apparently becoming “deeply worried” about how to deal with the economic impact of coronavirus, German website The Local reports.

Boris Johnson admitted to hospital over virus symptoms
UK PM in intensive care
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who has been receiving hospital treatment for COVID-19, is moved into intensive care. He went public with his diagnosis 10 days earlier. He is released from hospital on 12 April.
