My third shoot from the series mainly focuses on people. I used more techniques and though about shooting through things more, as well as using a frame within a frame. I tried shooting using my car window and mirrors more to shoot a more interesting and alternative insight into portraits. I also took into consideration colours. I feel as if I have made a lot more progress with this shoot and have become more successful in my understanding of framing shots and what works better.
After reviewing my past two shoots, I took the negatives I found and tried to shoot with them in mind to become more observant to the whole shot, rather than just the subject. I liked the idea of shooting through things, breaking up the frame and using reflections and experimented with this further during this shoot. The edits from this shoot are definetley my most successful and I feel I have become better at working quickly, having limited time to spot a subject that is interesting and shoot them whilst they are in the frame. I really enjoyed this shoot and felt as if I gained a btter understanding of how to shoot in a confined space but make each shot different but also connected.
I would have to say the first shot of the woman through the car is my favourite. I saw her walking past and quickly made the descision to shoot through the car next to me, keeping in a lot of the door as I wanted it to frame her. I also felt that the red of the car symbolises danger and warning, which compliments the theme and subject I am portraying within the project. I got several shots with her in the frame but thought this one of her glancing back was ther most powerful and shows her looking aorund and being aware of her surroundings. I also feel like her wearing gloves makes the image, due to how symbolic they are in relation to the pandemic and makes the story my clear and meaningful.
